My Comint Memories

This book is a collection of experiences from a ‘COMINT’, which place pivotal role in the age of electronic espionage. The several high-profile cases around the world are detected through communication networks such as “5 Eye Group”. Communications Intelligence (COMINT), refers to intelligence gathered from intercepted communications. Its operations involve sophisticated techniques to intercept, decode, and analyses various types of communications.  The writer spent a long time in the tumultuous region of Afghanistan. When the hijacked IC-814 of Indian Airlines was taken to Kandahar, he was one of the three officers from the RAW who went to Kandahar but he was alone to identify the fidayeens of International Islamic front of Osama Bin Laden near the aircraft. He has conveyed his role in the wars of 1971 and 1999 and reveals how challenging a spy's personal life can be—isolated from society and unable to inform even their families about their work. This is likely the first book detailing the experiences of COMINT.

Shri Vishnu Mishra is MSc (Maths) from Jabalpur University. He commenced his electronic espionage as Asstt. Central Intelligence Officer in IB and ended in R&AW as Deputy Secretary after earning unprecedented success foreign posting and foreign tours.
